US Sailing Jr Olympic Festival July 7-11, 2008
Students can experience the thrill of sailing and enjoy meeting new friends by taking sailing classes in the
summer and fall. The youth sailing program is open to
boys and girls 8 to 18, and participants need not be
members of the Waikiki Yacht Club.
Fundamental skills enable novice sailors to quickly
sail on their own, while advanced classes lead to
competitive sailing. Pre-teen novice, novice,
intermediate, advanced, and junior Olympic classes
are taught by U.S. Sailing-certified instructors on
International El Toro and International 420 boats.
Sailing instructors also hold First Aid and CPR
credentials.
Classes are held Monday through Friday, either in the morning from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. or in the afternoon from 12:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The 2008 fees for one-week sessions are $140-160 and two-week sessions are $255. Fees are discounted for WYC members.
